This month our spotlight is Silvia Giannelli from Holistically Swansil.

Silvia Giannelli, founder of Holistically Swansil, offers complementary therapies including mindfulness, chakra balancing, past life regression, intuitive card reading and Moonology™. Inspired by her own health journey, she set up the practice to help others feel supported, resilient and more connected with themselves.
“My only advice, actually, is informed by what I practice: start by creating something that makes your heart joyful (rather than just filling a market niche or pleasing someone else) and keep taking all the deep breaths that you need throughout the first years, so you can flow through the inevitable setbacks with alignment and determination, without losing motivation to reach your goal“ says Silvia

Tell us about your business – what service or product do you offer?
I am a complementary therapist, specifically a Mindfulness and chakra balancing practitioner, as well as a Past Life Regression Therapist and intuitive card reader. At the moment, I offer mindfulness classes & meditations (both 1-1 and group practice), chakra test + rebalancing (1-1), PLR (1-1), readings and Moonology™ (1-1 birth chart Moonology™ private sessions, and New & Full Moon Circles/Events in group settings). I’m finishing my studies in Hypnotherapy and Ayurveda (Indian traditional medicine).
In my practice, I interweave all these different disciplines to help my clients harness the tools to find inner resilience & nervous system regulation, tailoring my support to their needs, in the most useful way for them.
How long has your business been running?
1 year and 3 months
Why did you start up your business?
I have been struggling with 3 chronic conditions myself for two decades (fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, PCOS), until I started using myself as a case study using the same disciplines that I am now studying and practicing. My aim is to empower people to be the best version of themselves, by building emotional & physical resilience, by employing a holistic perspective that looks at tending to both body & mind, to reconnect and live freely.
Tell us about a time you have taken a leap of faith
My biggest leap of faith has been leaving my previous “world” of research & work in international politics/development and moving down to West Cornwall, without knowing anyone and having any guarantee, to reconnect with my own Self and finally start my practice, right after my father passed away unexpectedly back in Italy (where I’m from).
How has your business changed since you began?
Lately I have started branching out in offering mindfulness workshops and group classes (like the one starting on July,16th at the Centre of Pendeen), as well as holding day retreats in Cornwall (upcoming in August & September) and starting an online community membership (the latter one is still in the making). It feels like outreach and teaching will be fundamental parts of my practice, on top of private, 1-1 sessions, and an aligned development.
What do you hope for your business in the future?
My hope for my business in the future is to become a space where people feel seen, heard, included and safe and growing sustainably while providing my unique mix of mental health support and spiritual practices to help people live with grounded joy.
What benefits/challenges have you found as a business owner in the Far West of Cornwall
The main thing I have found, in my field, acts both as a benefit and as a challenge: there is a good amount of practitioners practicing disciplines similar to what I do, therefore the challenge is finding clients; at the same time, my practice is a pretty unique combination of interlinked therapies, so I can deliver tailored support for a broader spectrum of conditions.
How has being a part of FWBN helped you?
As you know, I’ve only met you guys once but the mere existence of your group makes me feel supported as a business owner who is still striving (struggling?!) to become established: it helps because various topics, that connect us all, can be discussed and tools can be learned, while keeping it accessible and friendly, rather than competitive. Building a business as a sole trader can feel pretty lonely and being a part of FWBN takes that out of the picture.
Do you have any advice for people starting out?
My only advice, actually, is informed by what I practice: start by creating something that makes your heart joyful (rather than just filling a market niche or pleasing someone else) and keep taking all the deep breaths that you need throughout the first years, so you can flow through the inevitable setbacks with alignment and determination, without losing motivation to reach your goal.
